The Ropeway Division

Damodar Ropeways and Infra Ltd has been in the business of building cable cars since 1974. With 40 years of experience in the field, it is the pioneer in the field of Cablecars in India.

It has constructed high capacity material ropeways with a capacity of up to 550 tonnes per hour. It has also constructed ropeways up to 18 kms long. Damodar has also constructed two of the highest passenger ropeways in snow bound areas in the World in Tawang & Auli at a height of 10,000 ft. and 900 ft. respectively. It has experience of building many difficult ropeways in the most challenging & uninhabitable terrains.

The team has at its disposal a competent technical knowledge base in engineering – civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics. Damodar also has a very capable and innovative design team equipped with state of art hardware and software facilities. It is thus able to offer a complete solution from inception and design to commissioning.

Besides execution of turnkey projects for private and state enterprises in India and in foreign, Damodar also takes up self financed passenger ropeway projects in India & abroad. Passenger Ropeway

PASSENGER ROPEWAY AT SCIENCE CITY, KOLKATA

Designed & built as a fun ride / transport system in the science park in Kolkata, it is a 650 PPH pulsated monocable ropeway on Build Own & Operate basis.

PASSENGER ROPEWAY AT TRIKUT

Design & built for the Govt. of Jharkhand to carry tourist to the top of Trikut Hill in Deoghar for the most beautiful panoramic view. It is a monocable detachable ropeway system of 500 PPH capacity.

PASSEGER ROPEWAY AT GANGTOK, SIKKIM

A transport system overlooking the beautiful landscape and city of Gangtok. It is a bicable jig back ropeway system installed in collaboration with Garaventa - Dopplemayr Tramways of Switzerland for Govt. of Sikkim.

PASSENGER ROPEWAY AT SHRI NAINA DEVIJI

Built to carry pilgrims to the top of the hill to the Shri Naina Deviji Temple, Himachal Pradesh. It is a Monocable Ropeway having 800 PPH capacities.

PASSENGER ROPEWAYS AT MAIHAR

Maa Sharda Deviji Temple in Madhya Pradesh is the largest temple dedicated to the goddess of knowledge. The monocable detachable ropeway system, having 800 PPH capacity, carries pilgrims to this much revered temple at hill top.

PASSENGER ROPEWAY AT AULI

Design, supply, erection and commissioning of ski-lift of 400 Skis per hour and a chairlift of 400 Persons per Hour. It is detachable chairlift at an altitude of about 9000 feet built in collaboration with Gimar Montaz Mautino of France for Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Limited, Dehradun. Auli is one of the highest & most beautiful places for skiing in India.

PASSENGER ROPEWAY AT TAWANG

Built at a height of 11000 feet, this cable car carries tourists from the important Buddhist Tawang Monastery at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. Total length of system is 1200M and has no tower. It is a single jig back Bi-cable (twin track and single haul) Passenger Ropeway system especially designed and built for PWD, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

PASSENGER ROPEWAY AT APPUGHAR

Damodar Ropeways had designed, supplied, erected and commissioned Fixed Grip Mono-cable Passenger Ropeway of 645/500 PPH on Build and Operate basis for the Appughar Amusement Park in New Delhi. The system had boarding and de – boarding at both the terminals.

Single Jigback Double Track Ropeways of 6MT payload capacity for Malana-II Hydroelectric Project in Himachal Pradesh.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY AT MAHARASHTRA

Durgapur Chandrapur Aerial Tramway and associated conveyors, constructed for Maharashtra State Electricity Board, has a carrying capacity of 500 Tonnes per hour of Coal.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY AT MP

This 16.8 KM Bicable Ropeway with a capacity of 150 Tonnes Per Hour from Amarkantak Mines to Choktipani was designed, erected and commissioned on turnkey basis for Bharat Aluminium Co. Ltd., Korba.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY AT MP

This 18.3 Km Bi-cable Ropeway with a capacity of 50 tonnes per hour transports from Phutakapahar mines to plant .It is the longest ropeway made on mountainous terrain. It was designed, erected and commissioned on a turnkey basis for Bharat Aluminium Co. Ltd. in Korba.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN KARNATAKA

 

A 10.5 KM long, 550 Tonnes per Hour capacity Ropeway was constructed for Hindustan Steel Works Construction Limited on a turnkey basis. The purpose of this ropeway was to transport sand and other materials for the construction of the Supa Dam in Karnataka.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN MAHARASHTRA

Constructed on turnkey basis for the Maharashtra State Electricity Board, Nagpur this 13.5 KM Ropeway is of 450 Tonnes per hour capacity. It carries coal for the power plant at Kamptee–Koradi, Maharashtra.

An aerial ropeway Contructed for Malabar Cement Limited in Trivandrum. It is 6.5 KM long having a capacity of 200 Tonnes Per hour.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN MAHARASHTRA

A Mono-cable Ropeway for Koradi Thermal Power Station to carry coal at Pipla-Patansaongi. It has a carrying capacity of 80 TPH. Constructed for the Maharashtra State Electricity Board, Mumbai.

A 5.2 KM long Mono-cable Ropeway of 200 TPH for carrying lime stone designed and constructed for K.C.P. Limited, Macherla, A.P.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN WEST BENGAL

Designed and erected for Damodar Cement and Slag Limited, Madhukunda on a turn-key basis. It is a 150 Tonnes per Hour capacity Monocable Ropeway. It is 5.6 KM long from Burnpur to Madhukunda.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN NEPAL

Built for Nepal Orind Magnesite Ltd., Kathmandu, Nepal. It has a capacity of 150 TPH and is a Monocable Ropeway. It is 11.2 KM long from Kharidunga to Lamasangu in Nepal.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN ANDHRA PRADESH

A Bi-cable Aerial Ropeway for carrying coal for Captive Power Plant, Heavy Water Project, and Khammam was built on a turn-key basis. It is 9.8 KM long and has a capacity of 300 TPH.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN NEPAL

A Bi-cable Ropeway of 200 TPH capacity at Udaipur, Nepal built for Udaipur Cement Plant, a Govt. of Nepal enterprise. It was made in the consortium of PWH of Germany.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN BIHAR

Designed and commissioned on a turnkey basis for TISCO, Ghatotand, Hazaribagh, and Bihar. It is a 300 TPH, 5.4 KM long Mono-cable Ropeway for carrying coal for their West Bokaro Collieries, Ghatotand, and District – Hazaribagh.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN NAGALAND

Revamping of the Bicable Rope-way including design, manufacturing, supply testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance was undertaken for Bhagheeratha Engineering Limited.

MATERIAL HANDLING ROPEWAY IN BHUTAN

Design & Engineering, Supply, Testing & Supervision of erection installation of Ropeway over Barsa River was undertaken for the Bhutan Carbide & Chemicals Limited, Bhutan.
