Company History
Damodar Ropeways & Infra Limited [DRIL] have been in construction business with specialization in building bulk material handling plants such as Aerial Ropeways, Coal Handling Plants, etc. on turnkey basis since 1974. DRIL also undertakes Turnkey construction of Steel/PRC Bridges and Multi-storied buildings.
In addition to turnkey projects, DRIL undertakes structural fabrication, civil engineering construction modification/increase in capacity of existing plants, operation and maintenance of running plants etc.
Industrial Ropeways both Suspended Bucket Monocable, Bicable and Aerial Tramways have been installed in association with well known European Companies like PWH of Germany and Interstate Equipment Corporation, USA. These installations have been carried out both for Govt. Departments of State and central and Private Sector Companies in India and in Nepal.
DRIL have associated with M/s. Doppelmayr Tramways Limited, Switzerland for installation of a Bicable Jigback Ropeway in Sikkim. They have also association with M/s. Rowema of Switzerland for Monocables, Detachable and Fixed Grips. DRIL have also constructed a Ski lift and a Monocable Detachable Chair Lift in collaboration with M/s. Gimar Montaz Mautino of France. Of late Passenger Ropeways on build own operate basis are being taken up by DRIL.
DRIL also have an association with RMO Workspoor Services, Amsterdam for design and manufacture, supply of stacker-cum-reclaimer, portal / reclaimer, blending system etc. of different capacities ranging up to 3000 Tonnes per hour and higher.
DRIL have on their rolls experienced professionals in the fields of civil, mechanical, electrical management, financial etc. at Calcutta. The strength of the design cell has been supplemented by an association with Industrial System and Equipment Designers Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Development Consultants Private Ltd., Calcutta. Thus DRIL is fully equipped for taking up all types of projects of any size/dimension.
Being a project oriented company, DRIL procure and supply equipment required for their various projects from any of the reputed original equipment manufacturers in the country or from abroad. When necessary they utilise the available spare capacity in the shops of various sub-suppliers.
Material Management is supplemented by Quality Control both in the raw material stage and finished product stage. Thus the customer gets the benefit of the best products available in the country for the different projects. On a 'job to job' basis in India, DRIL associates with the leading companies like Elecon Engineering Co. Ltd., Tata Robins Fraser Ltd. etc. who are the pioneers in their field.
